About the Department
Scope and
Importance of department: The Department has well qualified teaching staff with
10 Ph. D., well-furnished laboratories, Computer- Internet One of the Best
Research Centre in NMU, 08 Ph. D. Guides. During last six years 09 Students
awarded Ph. D. and 17 students are registered for Ph. D
Introduction of Department: Department of Botany was established in 1956 for UG course. In 1969 PG course grant in aid was introduced with Phycology and Mycology Specializations. Department of Botany is well known research center for Ph. D. since affiliated to University of Pune. Total 56 students awarded Ph. D. (09 students in last 5 years) and 18students awarded M. Phil form the department. Presently 8 Ph.D. guides in department and presently 17 students working in department. Our PG department is Golden Department, our M. Sc. students secured with Gold Medal continuously since last 40 years.
