History

          Late Karmveer Dr. P. R. Ghogrey Science College was established in 1956 by a renowned philanthropist Late Karmaveer Dr.P.R.Ghogrey under Shri Shivaji Vidya Prasarak Santha, Dhule. The Sanstha was initially started as a Arts, Commerce and Science college. The Science faculty was bifurcated as a separate unit of college in 1967 later named as Late Karmveer Dr. P. R. Ghogrey Science College.

          The goal of the institute is “Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay”. Initially, the college was affiliated to Poona University. With the establishment of North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon the college came under the purview of this University with effect from 15th August 1990. The College was accredited by NAAC on 7th August 2003 with “B++ Level” and A grade with 3.14 CGPA in the year March 2011. The period of this cycle (2011-2016) has witnessed some of the most noteworthy achievements in every aspect of the progress.

          The College was awarded “Best College Award” in the name of “Shri Madhukarrao Daulat Baviskar Adarsha Mahavidyalaya” by North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon on 24 Sept. 2005. The College was recognized by UGC as “College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) phase-I, phase-II, phase-III” during 2006 to 2016. The College was also recognized by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, as “Life Science Star College” during 2009. There are 220 affiliated colleges under North Maharashtra University out of which 01 college is recognized as College of Excellence, 05 colleges have been identified as College with Potential for Excellence by the UGC, New Delhi and Government of Maharashtra. Our college is one of these 5 esteem colleges. A climate of research, teaching, learning, student development, value education and community outreach programmes is nurtured through vital links between the University Schools/Institute and our college.

          The college is well equipped with excellent physical infrastructural facilities like majestic administrative, examination and library buildings, adequate classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, state-of-art research facilities, a seminar hall, auditorium, sports facilities Hostels, which are sufficient enough to satisfy almost all kinds of needs of teaching/nonteaching staff, students, researchers and stakeholders. This physical infrastructure is the asset of the college.
