Mathematics
About the Department
The Department of Mathematics
of our college was established in 1956 with the establishment of the college.
In the beginning, the department has only U.G. classes up to B.Sc. In 1988
college started P.G. classes of Mathematics under the University of Pune and
then from 1990 both B.Sc. and M.Sc. classes are running under the new
establishment of KBCNMU, Jalgaon.
Now, our department has 02 regular Teachers, 02 visiting
Professors and 04 contractual teachers. For this year 2022-23, the department
has total of 542 students from F.Y.B.Sc. to M.Sc.II. In the last five years, we
have conducted different activities for students and deputed a few number of
students to participate national level programs like STTP, MTTS, Mini MTTS and
TPM for higher learning in mathematics which are all conducted by Reputed
Institutions Of India.
As a part of research, one student awarded Ph.D. and two
are waiting for their final viva . Also,
more than 10 Research papers of national
and international repute are published by the teachers and students of the
department.
Professor S. V. Sirdesai Prize for toper students(One
each from our college and University level) of B.Sc.Mathematics is awarded
every year on the occasion of National Mathematics Day. This will be the 13th
year of this award.
